Situated between fruit orchards and orange plantations, at the foot of the Serra de Monte Figo, Moncarapacho is a typical village of this region. It is a lively place, truly Portuguese. The only foreigners one encounters are the so-called "residents" who have settled around the village.
Moncarapacho has several restaurants, cafes with terraces, bank, post office and three supermarkets. Every first Sunday of the month there is the so-called "gypsy market". Everything you want you can buy there. From t-shirts to chickens, from shoes to local honey.
